FACTORY GIRLS at the WARHOL MUSEUM in PITTSBURG
Hi its Strawberry. Audrey and I premiered our first Factory Girls film at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburg!
We are so excited about it!
here's my blog from lindastrawberry.com about my experience..

May 3rd - Pittsburg - The Warhol - Glenn Kaino Exhibit Opening -

Audrey and i flew on the red eye flight the night before and stumbled into the lobby of the hotel at the crack of 7. There were already alot of people downstairs taking advantage of the free breakfast buffet. I grabbed a doughnut and a newspaper and nearly passed out while we waited for them to check us in. While i was sitting there six or seven little girls walked in in full makeup and hair with clip on earrings. So bizarre! I thought i was hallucinating a Jon Benet Ramsey parade. Anyway, one of the moms pissed me off because she was withholding food from her very thin daughter. I wanted to slap her but instead i glared and tried to shoot warheads out of my pupils......

we finally got into our room and slept and slept and slept until 4.
it was nice and quiet. When we finally woke up we wandered out to a bar and met some locals who were watching sports and talking about the night before when they did too many jello shots. haha.

we had a really really long talk about different things in our life. conspiracy theories. aliens. the government. chemtrails. ex loves. life plans etc. and stumbled back to the hotel to get ready to go to the museum.

When we were ready we had some time to kill before we met up with clint and dirk so we went back to the same bar to show our new friends our outfits. i helped a girl tease her hair up texas style. and then we did lemon drop shots.

shortly thereafter we made our way down to the museum a couple of blocks away..

It was very exciting seeing real warhol art everywhere. Some of it was stuff i'd seen in books for years. I remember the summer that i read the philosophy of andy warhol book when i fell in love with his ideas and attitudes.
I didn't get a picture of this but they have some of the crates that held his belongings at the museum. I got to look at correspondence and mementos from his private storage. They are in the process of opening and taking inventory of each item.

We were excited to look for our film, but first we looked for Glenn Kaino's exhibit. He's the one who invited us to show our film there and be a part of it. :)

after seeing glenn's amazing exhibit we went hunting for our film. It was very exciting to walk around the corner and see our film 'Factory Girls 0026' playing. Its 48:48 minutes long. Its all about metamorphosis transformation and pressure of beauty standards.

Another VERY VERY cool thing was that I was compared to Nico in the polaroid exhibit. Glenn shot a polaroid of me with Andy's camera and it was shown with the original polaroid of Nico. I was ecstatic since I am a fan of Nico. Once I went with Marianne Faithfull to an Andy Warhol benefit where she sang "Song for Nico" when i was 20.That was the first time i was really aware of her but i went to amoeba and bought some records right away.

While we were up there we ran into Clint Catalyst and Dirk Mai who also had pieces in the show and are also our partners in crime in the Renegades of Style (renegadesofstyle.com)

we also ran into cory kennedy who is another 'uberstar' (uber.com/corykennedy)
and we started joking around about getting wasted...she had smuggled a beer up in her shirt. i thought her photographs were cool.

i wanted to take it all in before we left because it was so exciting. if any of you are in the pittsburg area it will be up until mid august.
party time.. there were balloons and stars everywhere. i want to rip it off for my living room. everyone was tipsy and dancing. i even saw a little old lady stomping on balloons and popping them while she laughed to herself. :)
